This week the nation celebrates Veterans Day. On Sports Spectrum Saturday, we also pay tribute to our nation’s veterans.
Our guest list includes one of the greatest quarterbacks in Navy football history, John Cartwright. John was a Navy quarterback from 1965-67 following the great Roger Staubach. He broke all of Staubach’s passing records and since then John has been a longtime pastor in Philadelphia.
We also travel to West Point to hear from Army assistant men’s basketball coach, Jim Platt. Jim talks about the joy of coaching the cadets at West Point.
Sports Spectrum chaplain, Bill Crowder also provides some perspective on Veterans Day. He talks about “sacrifice” and mentions some of our country’s greatest sports stars that have bravely served in the military.
We pay tribute to the New York Yankees who won their 27th World Series earlier this week. We share an interview with Yankees manager, Joe Girardi, from earlier in the season.
And for some early-season news from around the NBA, we talk with the television voice of the Orlando Magic, David Steele.
It’s sports, a remembrance of Veterans, real-life issues, and faith Saturday on Sports Spectrum.
