On the next edition of Sports Spectrum there’s plenty of baseball to talk about. One of the fastest growing events on the nation’s sports scene is the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
The World Series field is set and the games start this weekend. We visit with a coach who has won two NCAA baseball titles in his career, Andy Lopez from the University of Arizona. Andy’s team won a Division II title at Cal State-Dominguez and the College World Series in 1992 while coaching at Pepperdine. Andy talks about the growth of college baseball and the accomplishment for teams competing there. He also shares his perspective on coaching.
One of the top relief pitchers in Major League Baseball’s American League is Lance Cormier. Lance is in his first season with the defending American League champs, the Tampa Bay Rays. Lance tells us about being one of the new players in the clubhouse and comments on level of confidence his team carries.
Sports Spectrum chaplain, Bill Crowder shares some biblical principals on dealing with disappointment. And, Bill shares with us that oftentimes disappointment leads to the fulfillment of the Lord’s plan for our lives.
Plus we’ll hear the latest from the NHL and NBA playoffs and take your phone calls. The question this week: Tell us the name of your all-time favorite NBA player and tell us why.
It’s on the Web and on a radio near you . . . it’s Sports Spectrum Saturday.
