It’s Super Bowl weekend and Sports Spectrum is coming to you live from Radio Row at the Convention Center in Tampa, Florida. We have encouraging stories of sports and faith from some of the participants in Super Bowl XLIII—the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the surprising Arizona Cardinals.

We talk with Cardinals wide receiver Jerheme Urban and hear about his journey to the NFL, it’s been an unusual one. He played collegiately at a small Division III Christian school, was an undrafted free agent out of college, and is now a valuable player for the Cardinals. We hear how football is a ministry for Jerheme.

We also hear from Pittsburgh Steelers corner back, Anthony Madison. He was also undrafted out of the University of Alabama and cut from the rosters of several teams. Now he’s in the Super Bowl with the Steelers. Instead of pushing away, the adversity and disappointment brought him closer to the Lord.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback coach, Jeff Rutledge, is a walking miracle. He was almost killed in a serious auto accident in May of 2003 requiring re-constructive surgery to his face. By his own admission, he should not be alive today. But, he is and coaching quarterback Kurt Warner. Jeff shares the reason why he’s in coaching.

We also hear from other Super Bowl players such as Kurt Warner of Arizona and Troy Polamalu and Aaron Smith of Pittsburgh.

It’s sports, real-life issues and faith from behind the scenes at Super Bowl XLIII on Sports Spectrum.
