There was a surprising coaching change in college basketball on Monday when University of Alabama head coach, Mark Gottfried, resigned his position. A former Alabama player, Gottfried had taken the Crimson Tide to five NCAA Tournament appearances in 10 seasons. His 2004 team advanced to the NCAA Elite 8 and upset top seed Stanford.

On this edition of Sports Spectrum Today, we talk with a sports columnist for the Birmingham News, Ray Melick. Ray shares his insight on the sudden coaching change in Tuscaloosa.
