Long time college basketball coach, Don Meyer is about to pass coaching legend Bobby Knight as the winningest coach in NCAA men's basketball history.

He’s currently the head coach at Northern State University, a NCAA Division II school in South Dakota. He’s tied Knight's record of 902 wins and has 301 losses.

On this edition of Sports Spectrum Today, we talk with one of his former players, Tom Kelsey. Tom played for Coach Meyer at Lipscomb and is currently coaching college basketball at Belhaven University in Mississippi.

Tom talks about the life lessons he learned for Coach Meyer and the need for mentorship in coaching. In September, Coach Meyer was in an automobile accident as a result his lower left leg was amputated. And even though he’s also battling cancer he’s still coaching. Tom talks about coach Meyer's courage, perseverance and toughness.
