College football is important to fans in the state of Tennessee. Usually the head coach at the University of Tennessee is more powerful than the state's Governor. Now, for only the third time in 32 years, Tennessee has a new head coach. He’s former USC assistant, Lane Kiffin.

On this edition of Sports Spectrum Today, we talk about the hiring of Kiffin with the sports director of the NBC affiliate in Knoxville, Steve Phillips.

Kiffin is the son of long time NFL assistant coach, Monte Kiffin. He now becomes the youngest coach in Division I football. Is he too young for the meat grinder world of SEC football coaching? Steve shares his thoughts.
