The 2008 Summer Paralympic Games were officially opened with a grand ceremony Saturday evening. Many of these world class competitors have been training for this event all their lives.
On this edition of Sports Spectrum Today, we talk with a member of the United States Paralympic Rowing Team, Jamie Dean. Though he’s legally blind Jamie first got involved in the sport at Wake Forest in 2001. He’s currently a Fletcher Scholar at Wake Forest University School of Law. Athletics has long been a part of his life he was a wrestler in middle school in Charleston, WV.
Jamie shares the excitement he feels about participating in the Paralympics. He also talks about being a follower of Christ and how that faith impacts his desire to compete.
