This week on Sports Spectrum we’ll talk about events and issues in Major League Baseball and College Football.

It’s an extraordinary weekend in Baseball, several races look to be going down to the wire. Meanwhile a team that’s trying to stay out of the basement is the Cleveland Indians. We visit with the second baseman, Jamey Carroll.

It’s the opening weekend for college football—games are being played at stadiums all across the nation. We will talk about some of the biggest games of the day with a sports columnist from the Birmingham News in Alabama, Ray Melick. The biggest game of the weekend is in Atlanta, Georgia, where Clemson battles Alabama in a neutral site game. Ray shares his thoughts on this match-up. He also talks about the coaching legacy of Clemson head coach, Tommy Bowden.

We also hear from one of the top returning players in the Big Ten Conference, Jordan Norwood from Penn State. It’s Jordan’s last year to play college ball. He comments on the changes in the team this season and the challenges of playing in the Big Ten.

Finally, we take your phone call on college football. Tell us the college football game you are most interested in today and why! Doug Redford will be in the studio to take your comment.

Tune in for sports, real-life issues and faith on Sports Spectrum this week.
