Ben Pollard – College Football

SPORTS SPECTRUM TODAY

College Football

Guest: Ben Pollard
Head Strength & Conditioning Coach
Mississippi State University Football

Interviewed by: Frank Giardina

It’s the opening weekend for college football. One of the more interesting teams this season in the SEC will be the improving Mississippi State Bulldogs. In an unusual match-up, the Bulldogs will open their 2008 season tomorrow in Ruston, Louisiana against a non BCS opponent, Louisiana Tech. It will be one of the games on ESPN 2.

Last year was a season of making strides for Sylvester Croom's team. For the second straight year they defeated rivals Alabama and Ole Miss and also won the Liberty Bowl. On this edition of Sports Spectrum Today, we talk about college football with Ben Pollard, the strength and conditioning coach at Mississippi State.

Ben shares some of the reasons for the Bulldogs improvement. He also talks about the coaching philosophy that he’s observed from Coach Croom in Starkville. Like most coaches, he’s been fired and has had to re-locate his family—Ben talks about what’s important in his own life.

We hope you’ll be encouraged by this early football season visit with coach Ben Pollard from Mississippi State on Sports Spectrum Today.
