It’s now been 20 years since the United States started sending NBA basketball players to represent the U. S. in Olympic Men's Basketball. The last time a team of collegians played for the U. S. was in 1988, when a team coached by former Georgetown coach John Thompson won the bronze medal.
On this edition of Sports Spectrum Today, we talk with veteran NBA broadcaster, David Steele. David answers those critics who say we should still be sending college players to the Games. He tells us why the Olympic committee started using the NBA players with the Dream Team in 1992.
He also shares his thoughts on the 2008 U. S. Olympic team and talks about real-life issues in basketball as it relates to the growth of young Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard.
Don't miss a basketball visit with NBA broadcaster David Steele, on Sports Spectrum Today.
