It is an amazing time to be a sports fan. The Summer Olympics are wrapping up in China. Baseball pennant races are heating up. College football starts next week. The NFL is starting its third week of preseason preparation. It’s a smorgasbord of sports right now.
We’ll capture the highlights this weekend on Sports Spectrum. We’ll talk about Major League Baseball with one of the fine young arms on the Boston Red Sox pitching staff, Justin Masterson. Are the Red Sox still the team to beat in the American League? We’ll find out.
Pre-season activities continue in the NFL. There’s a lot of excitement in Cleveland this pre-season. We’ll talk with Browns receiver Stephen Sanders about the future of the Browns.
We’ll also go live to Beijing, China for a report from the 2008 Summer Olympics. The anchor of Sports Spectrum's coverage of the Olympics, Mark Friestad, will join us with an up-date.
Finally, we’ll talk about college football. The season starts next weekend. We’ll talk with a former star player for N. C. State, Johnny Evans. Johnny is now a broadcaster in the ACC.
