It is the first full week of. One of the most watched events at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games from China will be the men's basketball competition. This year’s United States Men’s Olympic Basketball Team features NBA stars, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Dewayne Wade and LeBron James.
On this edition of Sports Spectrum Today, we talk about Olympic basketball with one of the assistant coaches for the team, Mike D'Antoni. Mike is the former head coach of the Phoenix Suns and is the new head coach of the New York Knicks. He’s also a former NBA Coach of the Year.
It’s not a big team for the United States, there’s no true, pure, classic post player. Mike explains the make-up of the U. S. roster. He also talks about the importance of perimeter shooting in the international game and tells us about the shooting potential of this U. S. team.
