The Major League Baseball is nearing the end of the first half of the season. In Pittsburgh it’s been a tough 15 years for the Pirates franchise. It’s a young team going through growing pains. On the field, there’s reason for optimism in Pittsburgh. There’s also reason for excitement about what’s happening off the field. The third base coach for the Pirates, Tony Beasley joins us and shares why he’s so excited about the future of the Pirates.

Over in Boston, the best team in baseball may once again be the Red Sox. It’s a mix of young players and experienced leaders. One of the veteran pitchers for the BoSox is reliever Mike Timlin. Mike shares some of the reasons for the Red Sox great run this season.

Summer is a time for many us to try to get back in shape or rehab some of those nagging injuries. It’s also a time for young athletes to prepare for the next season. We take your phone calls in the area of sports fitness, injury rehabilitation and sports training, we visit with Alan Tyson, President of Architect Sports in Charlotte, N. C.

Enjoy an hour of baseball and sports fitness and training on the next Sports Spectrum.
