On college campuses around the country, most of the nation's football players are in summer classes and participating in voluntary summer workouts and conditioning programs. Gone are the days when players could go to their hometowns for an ever-so-brief summer vacation.

An up and coming program in the Mid-American Conference might be the long dormant Temple Owls. The Owls have a new head coach and he’s a rising star. On this edition of Sports Spectrum Today, we talk with Al Golden.

He shares his thoughts about the growth of the Temple program, the growth at Temple University and how the football and the university are helping one another. He also talks about the fact that Temple now has a league to compete in, the Mid-American Conference.
