We have plenty of baseball to talk about this week on Sports Spectrum. We’ll learn what it’s like to rebuild a struggling Major League Baseball organization.
We’ll talk with the General Manager of the Kansas City Royals, Dayton Moore. Dayton is in his second year in Kansas City and is trying to help the Royals re-group. It’s not easy—in fact it’s quite a challenge to be patient in an impatient society. Dayton talks about the changes the team is working through and he talks about one of the team assets, Royals new manager. Dayton also shares how his faith helps to direct the priorities in his busy life.
We also visit with one of the best all around outfielders in all of Major League Baseball, Jeff Francoeur of the Atlanta Braves. Jeff talks about his passion for baseball and the joy of playing in his home town of Atlanta. He also talks about how he stays grounded and humble in his faith, while the world around him is telling him how talented he is.
We also spend a few minutes with Nate McClouth of the Pittsburgh Pirates and in our last segment we will talk with the former General Manger of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Kevin Malone. This week was a big week in baseball. The amateur draft started on Thursday, Kevin tells us what the draft is like for an organization. The draft always brings about a unique set of demands for the team's General Manager and scouting staff.
We talk about baseball, real-life issues and faith on the next Sports Spectrum.
