Early June is a good time to talk about the NBA. We start off the week with a visit with our basketball analyst, C. J. Woollum. C. J. is a long time college coach at Christopher Newport University in Virginia.
He brings us up to date on the latest match-ups in the playoffs and we speculate on the possibilities of Doug Collins being the new head coach of the Chicago Bulls. This new coach is also an old one—Collins coached the Bulls from 1986-89 and compiled a record of 137-109, but could not get past the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons in the playoffs. The Pistons-Bulls rivalry has become very bitter.
Collins was fired and replaced by Phil Jackson who led the team to six titles. Could it be that Collins wants to return to the team to finish what he started? We talk about the factors that bring men back into coaching after they’ve stepped out of it.
It’s a great start to your sports week talking about the NBA with C. J. Woollum, on Sports Spectrum Today.
