It’s the biggest weekend in motor sports and Sports Spectrum takes you to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway where 39 teams will compete in the 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500. We hear what some of the drivers have to say in preparing for this race.
We add some football flavor and talk with the associate head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, Jim Caldwell. In the off season he was named as the eventual successor for Colts head coach, Tony Dungy.
We also hear from Indy driver Davey Hamilton. It’s a miracle that Davey is still able to drive he’s battled through more than 20 surgeries on his legs and feet from injuries suffered earlier this decade. He’s now driving for Kingdom Racing, a race team that has a bigger vision for winning races.
Don't miss insights and sounds from other Indy drivers such as Tony Kanaan, Scott Dixon, Dan Wheldon and Danica Patrick. The Chaplain of the Indy racing League, Bob Hills joins us as well.
In addition to Sunday’s race in Indianapolis, Charlotte, North Carolina will host NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600. We talk with our NASCAR analyst, Ron Pegram.
This weekend the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing," the Indianapolis 500 and a little NASCAR listen for it on Sports Spectrum – Saturday.
