Saturday on Sports Spectrum we visit with one of the most decorated gymnast in U. S. Olympic history, she’s three time Olympian Dominique Dawes. Dawes was on the 1992, 1996 and 2000 teams. Her 1996 team won the team Gold Medal in Atlanta.
It’s an interesting time for many hoping to play pro football. A number of college players expecting to be drafted were not and they’re not sure what to do next. Some free agent players have tried out and have already been cut from NFL rosters.
So what does an athlete do when the ball is taken away? What do any of us do when it’s time to move on and the future is uncertain. We talk with two former football players who have faced that decision. Former Penn State and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Todd Blackledge will join us. He is now a television analyst for ESPN.
Nebraska assistant football coach, Ron Brown, will also join us. Ron was cut by several NFL teams after playing college football at Brown University in the Ivy League. He knows the heartache of being the last player cut from an NFL team.
Finally, we talk about the NBA and the NBA playoffs with the most popular studio host in the NBA, Ernie Johnson of TNT Sports. Ernie shares his thoughts and observations on the exciting NBA playoffs. But there’s more to Ernie Johnson than what we see on TNT Sports. Tune-in for Sports Spectrum to hear more.
