There is still a great deal of discussion and re-hashing of the recently completed NFL draft. As is always the case, many of the players drafted come from schools in the Southeastern Conference. On this edition of Sports Spectrum Today, we talk football and real-life issues with a sports columnist for the Birmingham News in Alabama, Ray Melick.

Ray shares his observations on the NFL draft and specifically the selection of former LSU tackle Glenn Dorsey by the Kansas City Chiefs.  He also talks about former Arkansas running back Darren McFadden who was selected by the Oakland Raiders.

McFadden has overcome a difficult home environment to become the athlete that he is today. He is also taking some unusual measures to make sure he stays grounded once he begins playing in the NFL. Ray shares some of the story during our conversation.
