It’s the height of March Madness in the NCAA men's basketball tournament. The Regional finals are being played this weekend with Final Four berths in San Antonio on the line.
It’s also a prolonged Opening Day in Major League Baseball—more like an Opening week. On this edition of Sports Spectrum we capture the excitement and anticipation of Opening Day with a veteran radio broadcaster for the Minnesota Twins, John Gordon. The Twins play in the American League Central with two of the baseball's best teams, the Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers. John will share his thoughts on what should be an exciting divisional race.
In the NCAA Tournament, we hear from one of the top college basketball writers in the nation, Mike DeCourcey of The Sporting News. Mike shares his thoughts on the team’s best suited win the games this weekend.
We also visit with long time college basketball coach, Ritchie McKay. Ritchie has successfully coached at many schools across the nation including New Mexico, Colorado State, Portland State, Oregon State, Bradley and Washington. He’s coaching at Liberty University now and after moving his family quite a number of times he’s developed a new philosophy, he share it with us.
We also hear from two of the members of the Davidson College team. The Wildcats from the Southern Conference are one of the surprise stories of the tournament. Their star player is Stephen Curry, the son of former NBA player, Dell Curry. We briefly visit with young Curry and his teammate Andrew Lovedale.
It’s sport, real-life issues, and faith on the Saturday edition of Sports Spectrum.
