Selection Sunday for the NCAA tournament is this weekend and the pairings will be announced kicking off one of the most enjoyable months of the year. The men's and women’s Basketball tournaments start next week.
We have plenty of college basketball for you on Sports Spectrum. We start off talking with the first year head women's coach at Wisconsin-Green Bay, Matt Bollant. Matt talks about coaching basketball in a football crazy town. And he shares how his faith impacts his family and his efforts as a coach.
During the college basketball season Dave Pasch of ESPN is one of the busiest play by play announcers. Dave shares his thoughts on teams to watch out for in the NCAA Tournament. And he talks about how his faith sustains him during busy times of travel.
We also visit with two Division I men's coaches, Ritchie McKay and Lorenzo Romar. Ritchie McKay is one of the most well traveled coaches in the nation. He’s coached at Colorado State, Oregon State, New Mexico and now coaches at Liberty. He tells us about coaching at Liberty and shares some observations on a few teams expected to be in the tournament
And in the last segment of the program we will talk with Lorenzo Romar from the University of Washington. Lorenzo has been coaching through good times and bad times. He’s won national championships, as an assistant with UCLA in 1995. And he’s struggled through tough seasons. Lorenzo is still a young coach and he reflects on his experiences.
It’s a great way to start off the month of March Madness. Tune in for sports, real-life issues and faith on Sports Spectrum.
