The Dispersion of the Jewish People
In better times, the ancient nation of Israel was a model of monotheistic culture and international peace. Here, in and around the city of Jerusalem, the Jewish people worshiped their God and basked in the wisdom and wealth of King Solomon, the son of David. A thousand years later, the peace and prosperity were gone. Only rubble marked the spot of Solomon's temple and palace. What scattered "a chosen people" from their "promised land"? "The Dispersion of the Jewish People," on this Day of Discovery.
