Driven to Betrayal

Betrayal is a central element of the Easter story. As we prepare our hearts this week for the celebration of Easter, we join Joe Stowell in examining the events in John 13 leading up to Christ’s death on the cross. Joe explains that Judas’ betrayal was rooted in his unwillingness to give up earthly comforts and personal gain for the reward of eternity with Jesus. The scary reality is that a little piece of Judas lurks deep inside all of us. Joe challenges us to confront the areas of our lives that leave us vulnerable to betraying Christ for the sake of personal gain. As we realize how easy it would be for any of us to behave like Judas, we can be thankful that Jesus in His compassion was still willing to suffer and die for our sin. Strength for the Journey is a series of practical and thought-provoking weekly messages featuring the Bible teaching of Joe Stowell. Approx. Length: 20 minutes.
