When Disappointment Deceives
No one is immune to disappointment,though some have been led to believe that following the God of the Bible spares us from being let down. But even He is not spared from experiencing disappointment. The book of Genesis tells us that after seeing “how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become,”the Creator’s heart was “grieved”and “filled with pain”(Gen.6:5-
6).
Things are not what they seem. In some ways, they are worse than we thought. There is more happening to us in our disappointment than many of us realize.If we can agree on this point, perhaps we can embark on a journey to see in the following pages more of what is really going on.
